In Memory of our Dear Brother Ernest Hibbert

1 Corinthians 3:10-15

10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.

  2. What a support Ernest was to our family, to Alison, Alister and Philip in music and worship, to Stuart in mens group and mens breakfast. We will remember him most for his faithfulness to the CAP clients in providing for their needs and his passion for them to know Jesus like he did. Be imitators of Ernest as he was of Christ

  5. Ernest was a shining example and faithful servant of Jesus. To those that did not set foot inside a church, he made it easy for them to see a living faith and ambassador for God. A dear friend who will be sadly missed; now reaping his rewards with fullness of joy.

  7. Ernest lived to see the lost saved. His heart’s cry was that all he came into contact with would know Jesus as their saviour. While a human and subject to imperfections, he truly showed us Jesus living through him. He was an encourager, an intercessor, a minister of the gospel, a faithful follower and an example of the love of Jesus manifested through man. Thank you Ernest for being you xxx

  8. Ernest lived to serve. His life changed so many lives. His heart was in giving to those who had least, and his mission was to serve. God has welcomed a faithful and good servant home. And the world has become a better place for all he’s done in it. Yet he was also a husband and a father and grandfather, so I pray that the Father’s arms are round his family and they are able to find strength.

Rest in the arms of God Ernest x

  9. Ernest loved Jesus Christ and demonstrated his commitment to the Lord with passion for the lost. He sought that all will come to Christ. He gave his time, money, energy, to reach the poor, homeless and all who came his way with the love of Christ. Thank you for being an example for us all to emulate.

  11. Ernest, good and faithful servant- as you rest in the arms of your loving saviour and king, we remember you fondly and with awe. As a child, you inspired me to seek justice for the poor and the lost. I learned by watching you, what it meant to be known by love and to be the hands and feet of Jesus. You were always so kind and so gentle in love and yet so strong and resolute. Yours was a life fully given and devoted to the Lord. What a beautiful fragrance your sacrifice of praise and adoration is to Him. Thank you for teaching and modelling for us all what it is to live a life marked by christ; that is not just seeking His face but also faithful to do as He did.

Until we meet again, rest in peace dear friend. xx

Your good and faithful servant, a loving father, an example of how trusting God for the impossible can spread the love of God and show His heart to those in need immeasurably further than we could ever imagine. His life touched so many – you will be missed, but what a day of rejoicing it will be when we are all together again xx
